Sedgwick acquires ABESIM in Belgium

Sedgwick has acquired ABESIM BV, a Belgium-based engineering consultancy focused on soil contamination diagnostics and management.

The firm’s soil contamination experts assist project managers on both small and large projects involving drilling, sampling, drone flying, asbestos sampling, geotechnical field and laboratory testing, and groundwater flow modelling.

“This acquisition will help us to improve our operations and strategic positioning — not just in Benelux, but across the whole of the EU,” said Dirk Clement, director of Sedgwick in Belgium. “With the help of Johan L’Ecluse and his team from ABESIM, we can certainly improve our property and environmental loss adjusting services in the region. We look forward to capturing future growth opportunities and diversifying our customer base.”
