Business continuity ISO open for public consultation

ISO has released the official ISO 22301 Draft International Standard for Public Comment (DIS). BSI, as the UK’s National Standards Body, is seeking to consult with continuity and resilience practitioners, managers, and other interested parties to participate in this review aimed at improving this standard.

BS EN ISO 22301 DIS 'Business continuity management systems' specifies the requirements to establish, implement, operate, monitor, review, maintain and continually improve a management system. The aim of this system is to protect against, reduce the likelihood of occurrence, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptions when they arise.

Head of governance and resilience at BSI, Anne Hayes, said the standards body is keen for industry experts to share their views.

“Our business landscape is constantly changing and therefore our continuity strategy and so the solutions to deal with disruption need to keep evolving too. There is clearly a dependency between those who implement solutions and those who help shape the standard," she said.

The public consultation is open until 26 February 2019. Industry experts may register their comments online at:
