Global supply chain sustainability specialist Ecodesk has launched a free online tool to help businesses and organisations understand their current levels of sustainability performance in the face of increased reporting regulation and supply chain standards, including the forthcoming ISO 14001 revision.
E-Healthcheck has been designed to assess an organisation and its supply chain’s sustainability through a series of questions relating to key sustainability drivers, strategy, supplier engagement, procurement and internal mechanisms. The tool can provide businesses with an impartial view of their sustainability strengths and weaknesses, as well as offering guidance on how to improve performance. On completion of the questionnaire, organisations receive a report card with a sustainability score in each category and recommendations for further action.
“It is surprising how many businesses do not know where they are in terms of supply chain sustainability and how an understanding of supplier sustainability metrics can influence procurement planning,” said Mark Plant, CEO, Ecodesk. “The aim of E-Healthcheck is to provide answers and advice to help businesses be responsible, efficient and make informed procurement decisions. It’s also there to help businesses see where they are in preparation for regulation and ISO14001.
“Aligning sustainability with business goals will help businesses reduce risk, understand supplier continuity issues and promote energy efficiency. We think E-Healthcheck will provide both experienced organisations as well as those new to sustainability, a clear guide as to areas of potential improvement.”
