The Managing General Agents’ Association has welcomed its 200th member, Signature Underwriting, in an important milestone for the association and the wider UK MGA market -- MGAA members now control over £7.3bn of GWP with the growing membership also including 56 market practitioners and 122 suppliers.
Mike Keating (pictured), CEO, MGAA commented: “We’re delighted to be welcoming our 200th member, Signature Underwriting and to have reached such an important growth milestone for the association.
"Not only is this testament to our continued commitment to representing the interests of the MGA sector, it is also reflective of just how important MGAs have become in the wider insurance market. We look forward to welcoming new members whilst we retain a laser focus on meeting all member needs”.
Established in 2013, the MGAA’s latest member, Signature Underwriting, specialises in taxi, courier, haulage and commercial own goods insurance and reflects the excellent customer service, specialist underwriting expertise and innovative approach that characterises the burgeoning MGA community.
Kelly Sims, head of operations at Signature Underwriting, added: “We’re excited to be joining the MGAA and to raise our profile within the MGA and broker communities. We feel that the Association’s platform will give us a great opportunity to connect with brokers regarding our niche motor hire and reward insurance product offering.
“The additional benefits of high-quality training and development opportunities for our employees, as well as the ability to attend the annual conference, made this decision an easy one for us. As a small team, one of the greatest challenges is having people away from the office for large periods of time to attend training sessions, the fact that the MGAA have many of these available online means that it suits our working practices and enables us to get the most out of our membership.”
The MGAA was founded in 2011. The association will be hosting a one-day in person conference at Old Billingsgate next week. Find out more at MGAA 2023 Conference.
