John Levett to lead regulatory affairs at LMA

The Lloyd's Market Association has appointed John Levett to the position of head of regulatory affairs.

Levett joined the LMA in October 2023 as senior executive, regulatory affairs and has worked on a broad range of consultations with bodies such as the Financial Conduct Authority and Prudential Regulatory Authority, as well as chairing the LMA committee for environmental and climate litigation.

Previously, Levett was the senior regulatory lead at RSA Insurance. From 2017 to 2022, he worked at the FCA where he was a technical specialist in general insurance compliance and worked on product governance-related thematics.

In his new role, Levett will report to Arabella Ramage, legal director of the LMA.

She said: “The LMA is fortunate to have someone of John’s experience and knowledge of the insurance market as we work towards ensuring our members are appropriately represented with respect to regulatory regimes around the globe.”

Levett added: “I am delighted to be taking up this role at such an important time for our industry and our members. Smarter regulation can only help reinforce the London market’s global reputation as the centre of insurance and reinsurance technical expertise.”
