Solution Underwriting rebrands as CFC

Specialist Australian underwriting agency Solution Underwriting will from this week trade under the CFC brand. CFC acquired the specialist underwriting agency, focused primarily on financial lines insurance products, in April 2024.

Since then, the business has added local capabilities in cyber and transaction liability to increase its offering to Australian brokers, with plans to expand local expertise further into management liability and technology, media and intellectual property.

“Our business model from day one has been simple – to be experts in our space, deliver excellent products and back it all up by providing outstanding broker service,” said Anita Lane, managing director at CFC, Australia. “Becoming part of CFC has allowed us to bring a range of fresh new products to our partners and give their clients access to market leading proactive insurance services, whilst CFC’s existing partner base can take advantage of our own expertise in financial lines. Combining our local expertise with that of our colleagues based in London is a compelling proposition.”

CFC now has over 100 staff in five offices across four states in Australia.

Commenting on the move, CFC’s group chief executive, Louise O’Shea (pictured), said: “For the last two decades, Australia has been a key market for CFC. Over this period, we’ve built a broad distribution network and become the leading cyber insurance provider in the region.

“In joining Solution and CFC together, we are not only accelerating the growth of our combined business but we’re delivering an unrivalled product offering backed by cutting-edge technology and the best service in the market to our broker partners and their clients in the region. Our team is hugely energised and I am convinced that CFC will grow our presence significantly in the Australian insurance market over the coming years.”
