AEGIS London appoints new CRO

AEGIS London has appointed Charity Bare to the position of chief risk and compliance officer.

Bare will be responsible for a team of 16 across AEGIS London’s Risk and Compliance team – incorporating risk, exposure management and compliance and regulation. She will report to Alex Powell, CEO of AEGIS London.

Following a master’s degree in risk management, Bare held roles in Risk Management at Brit, Talbot and Nephila. Prior to joining AEGIS London, she was group risk director at Canopius Group, which was her third senior position in the London Market.

She brings with her a wealth of experience and proven leadership from across the London Market and is well-aligned to our vision of underwriting excellence. Her deep knowledge of risk, control and regulation will be crucial to AEGIS London as we focus on achieving our strategic priorities in this ever-changing risk environment.”

Bare’s appointment is subject to the usual regulatory approvals.
