IRM expands Southeast Asia presence

The Institute of Risk Management has announced a strategic partnership with Veda Praxis to strengthen professional risk management capabilities across Indonesia and Vietnam.

The partnership, launched at an event in Jakarta in July, will see the organisations deliver executive events, learning initiatives and thought leadership, alongside the creation of the first IRM Indonesia Regional Group. Veda Praxis has also secured exclusive reseller rights in both countries for IRM's new online qualifications covering managing AI risks in the workplace, financial services risk management and managing organisational risks.

Commenting on the partnership, Stephen Sidebottom, IRM group chair, said: “Risk is everyone’s business. From small enterprises to major institutions, the ability to anticipate, understand and navigate uncertainty is now essential. This partnership with Veda Praxis enables IRM to extend its reach and support lifelong learning in two fast-growing markets, while maintaining alignment with our global standards and values.

“By bringing together IRM’s international expertise with Veda Praxis’s local knowledge, regulatory understanding and on-the-ground experience, we can ensure that risk education in Asia remains both world-class and contextually relevant. We look forward to building capability, supporting professionals and contributing to the continued evolution of risk management practice across the region.”

Syahraki Syahrir, CEO and partner of Veda Praxis, added: “We are honoured to partner with IRM. Together, we will equip organisations in Indonesia and Vietnam to strengthen resilience, foster ethical and effective leadership through lifelong learning and education, and embrace risk as a catalyst for innovation and growth. This partnership is more than a commercial arrangement. It is a shared mission to elevate professional practice, support better decision-making and create meaningful societal impact.”

The IRM's latest collaboration supports the ambitions of the 2026 UK-Indonesia Government Economic Growth Partnership, which identifies education, professional business services, financial services and the digital economy as priority areas for cooperation.
