Ardonagh continues expansion in Asia with HK acquisition

Ardonagh has acquired a majority stake in Risk Management Insurance Brokerage, a Hong Kong-based specialist insurance brokerage which specialises in employee benefits, P&C, transport and niche international programmes.

RMIB will join Ardonagh’s existing HK investments, alongside PSC HK, Apex Insurance, Charter Gilman Insurance Brokers, Charter-Union Insurance, and Trans-Pacific Insurance Brokers, further strengthening Ardonagh’s capabilities in employee benefits and specialist risk advisory in the region.

RMIB is led by longstanding Directors Bie Tong and Danny Yao, who will continue to lead the business. Des O’Connor, chief commercial officer, at Ardonagh, said: “We see real opportunity in Asia and demand continues for local, independent broking services. RMIB represents the type of firm we value partnering with – trusted, technically capable, and highly respected within its market. We are pleased to welcome Bie and Danny and look forward to close collaboration as we continue to enhance our Hong Kong presence and client offering together.”

Bie Tong, founder and chief executive of Risk Management, added: “Over nearly three decades, we have built RMIB by focusing on depth of expertise, consistency of service, and long-term client relationships. Joining Ardonagh marks an exciting next chapter, and we believe this partnership will allow us to further enhance the solutions and support we provide to our clients.”
