HDI strengthens energy and power proposition

HDI Global UK and Ireland is expanding its presence in the London energy and power insurance market.

HDI is actively investing in underwriting, claims and risk engineering capabilities, following the recent appointment of Dave Wilson as global head of energy claims, alongside the relocation of underwriters from within the HDI Group, including Ferhat Aclan from Hanover.

In addition, HDI is also in advanced stages of recruitment for additional roles within the team. The expanded London team will support a proposition spanning upstream, midstream and downstream energy, conventional and renewable power generation, as well as associated construction risks.

Matthew Bond, head of energy and power, HDI Global UK and Ireland, said: “We are bringing together HDI’s long-established global energy and power expertise into a more visible and accessible London platform. Our ambition is to be a meaningful and long-term partner in transformation – by investing in underwriting, claims and risk engineering, we are building a proposition that goes beyond capacity and delivers real value to brokers and clients.”
