Addept Insurance expands marine legal protection book

Addept Insurance has announced further growth in its Waypoint specialist marine legal protection insurance solution with a new scheme for sail and motor yacht insurance provider, Pantaenius UK.

Launched in September 2025, Waypoint is a specialist legal protection insurance and assistance service for boat owners. It offers bespoke coverage reflecting the breadth of risk in the marine and pleasure craft sectors.

Richard Finan, managing director of Addept Insurance, commented: “Our partnership with Pantaenius UK is an important milestone for the business and the Waypoint solution. We set out to address the narrowing of cover and capacity options we see in the current marine legal expenses market. The market’s response to the solution and our drive to simplify administration processes for brokers, has resulted in strong growth.”

Commenting on the partnership, Andy Crick, executive director, Pantaenius UK, added: "Legal expenses insurance is an important add-on product for us. The Addept Insurance team bring many years of experience and a clear understanding of the marine legal expenses insurance needs of boat owners. Their flexibility, customer-centred and commercial approach to product design and distribution deliver our customers a high-quality product at a competitive price point.”
