Targa Telematics has launched an agentic AI-powered solution designed to help fleet operators manage vehicle maintenance.
The platform combines information from telematics devices, OEM systems and external platforms to provide real-time monitoring of vehicle health.
The solution can automate routine activities including appointment scheduling, stakeholder coordination, workflow initiation, operational prioritisation and administrative checks.
“UK fleet operators are managing increasingly complex maintenance ecosystems while facing continued pressure to maximise vehicle availability and control costs,” said Chris Horbowyj, UK commercial director at Targa Telematics. “With Maintenance Excellence, we are delivering an agentic AI-powered solution that enables organisations to move beyond reactive maintenance and manual coordination to intelligent, autonomous management of the entire maintenance lifecycle. The result is greater operational efficiency, reduced downtime and smarter decision-making across the fleet.”
Research involving more than 120 Italian mobility operators, conducted by Centro Studi Fleet and Mobility, found that 69% of respondents believe integrated vehicle data management could improve the accuracy of vehicle downtime information. A further 66% said coordinated information management could help reduce vehicle inactivity, while 64% identified AI-driven data integration and analysis as a key way to create value in maintenance operations.
According to the Targa Telematics Observatory, the wider use of AI could reduce maintenance costs by up to 30% and lower fleet downtime by 13%.
