Jensten expands Scotland footprint with Kelvin Smith deal

Jensten Group has agreed to acquire Kelvin Smith Insurance, strengthening its presence in Scotland. The transaction brings with it 30 staff, a Glasgow office and more than 3,000 clients. Kelvin Smith, founded in 1982, controls £22m in gross written premium. and operates across commercial risks, fleet and SME markets, alongside specialist personal lines.

The deal follows earlier investments in Broker One and NC Stirling as Jensten builds its Scotland region.

Robin Thomson, managing director at Jensten, said: “This acquisition marks an important milestone as we continue to build scale and capability across Scotland. Kelvin Smith is a highly respected business with strong values and deep market expertise. Alongside Broker One and NC Stirling, their addition gives real momentum to our Scotland region and lays strong foundations for sustainable regional growth.”

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.
