Rokstone expands specialist fleet offering

Rokstone Marine, the international specialty reinsurance MGA, has secured US$1m of Lloyd’s-backed capacity to launch a specialist vehicle transporter insurance solution. Vehicle transporters present different risks to those of traditional haulage businesses due to their specialist equipment, higher limit requirements and operational complexity.

The new capacity will enable the MGA to offer specialised policy wordings, deductible structures and coverage extensions for original equipment manufacturers and shippers.

Mike Nukk, head of marine at Rokstone commented: “This is great news for the market, at a time when we see continued retraction in specialised segments. Adding this new capacity is critical as inflation and technology improvements are causing vehicle costs to rise exponentially.

The deal forms part of Rokstone Marine’s expansion of its inland marine offering as it seeks to increase its presence in specialist commercial insurance markets.
