Drata has launched AI Agent Governance, a new capability designed to help organisations discover, monitor and govern artificial intelligence agents operating across their businesses.
Initially available for Anthropic users, the platform is intended to provide greater visibility over AI agents and their access to systems. Support for OpenAI, Google Vertex AI and AWS Bedrock is in development.
The launch comes as enforcement of elements of the EU AI Act begins. Drata says the platform enables organisations to identify AI agents, test governance policies before deployment, and apply controls designed to prevent actions that breach company policies.
Recent incidents involving OpenAI, Hugging Face and Anthropic have highlighted the importance of monitoring AI systems and ensuring they operate within defined permissions.
"When Anthropic pulled the guardrails off its own agents, those agents went rogue almost immediately – and that's Anthropic, with more safety infrastructure than almost anyone," said Adam Markowitz, CEO of Drata. "But most enterprises don’t even have guardrails on their agents, or a way to trace their access and actions. What we just watched play out with the two biggest frontier AI labs can happen even easier inside enterprises with missing or limited AI governance programs. The ability to proactively discover, monitor, and govern those AI agents in real time is how security teams are getting ahead of it.”
