AI cyber risks prompt Beazley cover update

Beazley has introduced an AI Clarifying Endorsement for its cyber product. The endorsement provides affirmative AI wording that expressly addresses AI-related events within existing coverage frameworks.

AI-related cyber threats are developing rapidly, with large language model systems becoming increasingly capable of supporting autonomous cyber attacks.

Alessandro Lezzi, group head of cyber risks at Beazley, said: "There is widespread uncertainty about the future of AI and its impact on business, both constructive and destructive. Insurance policies should not increase this uncertainty. This endorsement makes it clear to our clients that in the event of a cyber attack, AI-driven or otherwise, they are protected.

“AI has become intrinsically linked to cybersecurity from both an offensive and defensive perspective, so as an ongoing risk partner to business, we are adjusting our wording accordingly."

Beazley’s own Risk and Resilience Cyber Threat and Tech Advances 2026 report found that 35% of global executives are investing in AI to strengthen resilience, while 33% are increasing cybersecurity spending. It also found that 80% agreed AI will boost their bottom line.
