Oak Global has received Lloyd’s approval to establish Oak Partnerships, a new business unit providing multi-class underwriting capacity for insurance portfolios. Capacity will be provided by Syndicate 1440, with risks incepting from 1 January 2027.
Elisabeth Groehe has joined as chief underwriting officer of Oak Partnerships and will serve as joint active underwriter of Syndicate 1440 alongside Roland Morse, chief underwriting officer of Oak Enterprise.
Cathal Carr, CEO and group chief underwriting officer of Oak Global, said: “Oak Partnerships is an exciting expansion of Oak Global’s offering to the market. It will bring our technology-enabled underwriting expertise to a new cohort of underwriting partners, offering Lloyd’s capacity for multi-class portfolios of profitable risk.
"For our capital providers, this will further diversify Oak Global’s offering by adding a lower volatility underwriting strategy and risk profile that is highly complementary to our existing reinsurance and retrocession portfolios."
Oak Partnerships will use Oak Global’s proprietary technology platform and industry dataset to support portfolio risk analysis, benchmarking and insights. The unit will also provide access to Lloyd’s security and licensing framework.
