Allianz simplifies cover for renewable energy sites

Allianz UK has expanded its renewable energy insurance proposition, introducing a single operational policy for customers with multiple technologies at the same site.

Renewable Energy Select covers onshore wind, ground-mounted solar and hydro, biomass, anaerobic digestion, battery energy storage systems and Slow Reserve.

Cover is supported by specialist underwriting, engineering inspections and risk prevention expertise. Allianz UK has a network of more than 750 engineer surveyors and can draw on renewable energy expertise in more than 70 countries. Construction All Risks cover remains available as part of its wider offering.

Karen Boothroyd, head of construction, engineering and energy, UK markets at Allianz UK, said: "The UK’s transition to renewable energy brings significant opportunities, but the risks are changing too. Different technologies carry different risks during construction and operation, including disruption to the business. Connections between equipment, supply chains and grid infrastructure also mean problems in one area can have wider consequences."
