Brokers and other risk professionals in emerging markets are increasingly investing in formal risk management qualifications as they move towards more advisory-led roles, according to Brokerslink, which is partnering with RIMS for a third consecutive international certification workshop.
The two-day RIMS-Certified Risk Management Professional workshop takes place in Istanbul on 3-4 November, with participants from 16 countries. It will cover risk identification and assessment, strategy development and the implementation of risk management processes.
Carla Alves, director of marketing and operations at Brokerslink, said: “Our continued investment in risk management expertise strengthens our global network and the value we deliver to clients. This year, more participants than ever are joining from emerging markets, and the vast majority of them are funding their own place. It tells us that brokers in these markets are moving from a transactional model to an advisory one, a shift that has been a long time coming. Our collaboration with RIMS gives our partners and affiliates an internationally recognised certification to lead that change.”
The workshop forms part of a multi-year agreement under which RIMS provides training and exam preparation for Brokerslink’s network of around 50,000 risk professionals across 141 countries.
RIMS president Manuel Padilla, who will lead the workshop, added: “A globally accepted understanding of strategic risk management is key to elevating the practice of risk management around the world. The RIMS-CRMP certification sets a global risk management standard, ensuring that brokers and risk professionals are aligned and positioned to strengthen business resilience and deliver greater value. RIMS is proud to continue this collaboration with Brokerslink to advance the profession and strengthen risk capabilities globally.”
The workshop precedes the Brokerslink Global Conference, which runs in Istanbul from 4-6 November.
