Insurance technology company tigerlab has launched a new broker management system for marine cargo insurance, developed to manage the high volume of shipment declarations and financial transactions associated with open cargo policies.
The platform, tigerlab Brokerage, is already processing live business as the broker rolls it out across its international network of more than 30 countries. Five countries are currently live.
The new system brings shipment declarations, invoicing and insurer reporting into a single workflow, with four connected accounting ledgers covering client premiums, insurer payables, broker commissions and insurance taxes. Sanctions screening and customer due diligence checks are also built into the process before cover can be bound.
Holm Schimanski, partner and chief AI officer at tigerlab, said: “Managing the policy is only part of the job. The real administrative burden comes from processing high volumes of shipment declarations and associated transactions, as well as the reporting behind them.
“When those activities rely on emails, spreadsheets, and separate systems, brokers spend too much time moving information between them. We’ve built tigerlab Brokerage to bring that work into one process.”
The platform is aimed at marine cargo, transport and logistics brokers, and managing general agents. It can also be integrated with tigerlab’s tigersuite platform to support delegated underwriting functions, including shipment portals, referral rules, vessel tracking and screening.
