UK floods: Phoenix responds

For the past seven days, much of the UK has experienced torrential rain resulting in flooding and widespread disruption. As conditions look set to continue, business continuity and managed IT services provider, Phoenix has been on hand to assist many of its 2,000 customers in keeping their business running.

Phoenix has placed all of its local recovery sites on standby, as well as making sure that other centres around the UK are equipped to take on extra capacity.

Mike Osborne, managing director of Phoenix’s business continuity unit commented: “Phoenix recognises the severity of this current weather cycle and is working tirelessly to ensure the utmost safety and security of our customers, and their businesses. It’s during these conditions that you truly appreciate the awesome capabilities of Mother Nature and the fact that she doesn’t discriminate against the size of company.”

Osborne continued: “Businesses of all shapes and sizes can and will continue to experience disruption, and although many may weather the storm, there are many that might never recover and be forced to cease trading. We are working to ensure this doesn’t happen and that companies at a local and national level continue trading, whether it’s from their own location, with replacement IT or from alternative premises.”
