Miller renews contract with Phoenix

Broker Miller has renewed its contract with Phoenix for a further three years.

Phoenix currently provides Miller with a full range of business continuity services, which covers everything from syndicated seats, automated offsite backups, replication and datacentre space, to emergency office services and IT disaster recovery.

The renewal represents a 50 per cent increase of services, based on the usage of Phoenix’s online back-up solution.

David Garwood, Head of IT Infrastructure and Support at Miller, comments: "As a business we strive for excellence in everything we do, and as a result we’ve built up a strong reputation as one of the leading and longest established independent insurance brokers. Our business relies on availability and accessibility of data, and therefore having the correct systems and resources in place to safeguard it is essential.

“The renewal of our agreement with Phoenix for business continuity is a reflection on the excellent services we’ve received over the past three years, and means we are prepared for any eventuality, demonstrating we have a truly resilient business. In the event that we need to invoke a business continuity plan, our people can be quickly relocated, and able to get back to the things they do best immediately, meaning minimal disruption to our clients.”

Mike Osborne, managing director of Phoenix’s business continuity unit commented: “The proliferation of data now means clients are experiencing much longer recovery times due to the sheer volume of unstructured data which needs to be recovered. For many this is an issue that creates a mismatch between the time the business needs and expects to recover versus the capability of the IT team to do so. Miller acknowledging and addressing this issue by implementing an innovative solution that aligns the business need with the IT capability and budget; is a real testament to their business and how they are adapting their service to meet this rapidly changing environment.”
