Vocal offering notification technology to local authorities for free

Vocal is offering an entry-level Warn and Inform service free of charge until December 2010 to all local authorities in the UK. The iModus Warn and Inform system can be used both for everyday communication as well as crisis messaging.

Director Trevor Wheatley-Perry said “Vocal have been a trusted provider of business continuity and communications systems to the public sector for over a decade and we recognise that in the current economic climate every local authority is striving for absolute value from their supplier. Vocal ensure that every public sector organisation using iModus has exactly the system they require to provide real value whilst meeting the Civil Contingencies Act (CAA) legal requirement to ‘warn and inform’ their communities.

"This free email-only Warn and Inform service is the first step towards a complete communication solution for business and residential communities. Warn and Inform is powered by the award-winning iModus system and fulfils the legal duty of every local authority to warn and inform their community."

Warn and Inform allows users to:

•cut the cost of fulfilling CAA requirements;
•use Vocal's iModus system to build stronger relationships with the public though regular updates on local community projects and good news stories from the area; and
•reach a wider audience in your community with the Warn and Inform system by sending information to residents and businesses on upcoming disruptions and road closures, for instance.
